GO Seva

Cows have always been regarded as a holy being and Goddess in our tradition. In our own houses, not far beyond a generation or so, every home owned cows to procure milk for daily Abhishekam for Gods at home and for our household needs. As our lives became busier and more and more people moved to cities for occupation, having cows at our homes have become far from reality now-a-days. Unfortunately, in our holy nation, when these cows become old and stop giving milk, they are considered a burden and sent for slaughtering, the most sinful act.

Protection of Cows GoSamrakshanam has become the need of the day to revive the nation from the downfall from these sinful deeds and restore prosperity, peace and harmony. Towards this noble cause, a Gosala is functioning inside Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram premises. A unique feature of this Gosala is that the Cows are of Sri Brindhavan, Sri Govardhan, Sri Dwaraka origin and descendants of cows grazed by Lord Sri Krishna Himself. Hence this Gosala is rightly named Sri Gokulam. Devoted food, shelter, water, electricity and medical facilities are made available for this Gosala.

With close to 150 cows in this Gosala, the cost of food and other maintenance amounts to Rs. 7000 per day. Contribution of Rs. 3500 each from two devotees a day will meet this noble need. Bhakthas can also earmark their birthdays, anniversaries, remembrance days of their forefathers or any other special day and make them auspicious by donating Rs.3,500/- to participate in one day’s GoSamrakshanam for all these cows.

Bhakthas desirous of participating in this noble cause can also donate Rs.11,000/- per cow, the cost that attributes towards procuring and transporting one cow from Sri Brindavan, Sri Govardhan and Sri Dwaraka, do Go-Pooja and be the recipient of bountiful blessings of Sri Vittal Rukmini.

Devotees who are willing to participate are requested to send their contribution either by Cheque or DD favouring "SRI PANDURANGA CHARITIES - GO SAMRAKSHANAM A/C" and send it to the below address

Vittaldas Jayakrishna Deekshithar

In the prosperous state of Tamil Nadu enriched by the river Cauvery two great vedic scholars named Sengalipuram Brahmashri Anantharama Deekshithar and Brahmashri Narayana Deekshithar, the two Brothers in Kali Yug like Lava & Kucha in Ramayana, ruled over the minds of the people in the beginning of the 20th century for several decades by their numerous dharmic discourses on Srimadh Ramayanam, Srimadh Bhagavatham, Sri Mahabharatham, Narayaneeyam etc.

The tradition is now being carried on by Somayaji, Maha Agnichith, Brahmashri Vittaldas Jayakrishna Deekshithar, the grandson of Brahmashri Narayana Deekshithar, and the son of Vadagudy Brahmashri Rama Deekshithar. Brahmashri Vittaldas is also the most blessed-disciple of the Guru Parampara of Sathguru Gnanananda Giri Swamigal of Dhakshina Halasyam, H H Sri Sri Sri Haridhos Giri Swamigal (Guruji) and Paranur Mahathma Brahmashri Krishna Premi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna). Brahmashri Vittaldas learnt Vedas and Shastras in proper way and has conducted many Yagnas, including the Garuda Chayana Athirathra Somayagnam in July 1997. As an honour to Brahmasri Jayakrishna Deekshithar's bhakthi towards Sri Pandurangan (Vittal), Sri Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna) conferred the title VITTALDAS to Him.

Like His ancestors, Brahmashri Vittaldas is equally a talented scholar and has been preaching and giving discourses on Ramayana, Bhagavatham, Narayaneeyam and other epics. Like His Guru Swamy Haridhos Giri Swamigal, Brahmashri Vittaldas is blessed with the art of doing Namasankeerthanam. His Abhang Bhajan (Maharashtra devotional songs) and musical discourses especially Sri Bhaktha Vijayam, makes any listener blissfully happy and rapturous.

Brahmashri Vittaldas has been spreading Bhakthi and the importance of Namasankeerthanam to attain peace and welfare in mankind. In the Kali Yug, the only easy way to reach the Lotus Feet of God is through chanting of Lord's name. With this in mind, Brahmashri Vittaldas has formed an establishment by name Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram. Various dharmic activities like Pooja, Bhajans, Unchanvrithi, Upanyasams etc are carried out thoughout the year in Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram. Brahmasri Vittaldas has been performing Namasankeerthanams and Upanyasams all over India throughout the year with His disciples to spread the importance of Namasankeerthanam.

SRI VITTAL RUKMINI SAMASTHAN

With the divine grace 0f Sri Haridhos Giri Swamigal (Guruji) and Paranur Mahathma Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal ( Sri Sri Anna), Sri Vittal Rukmini Samasthan ( previously called Sri Panduranga Bhajanashram) was established in the year 1998 by Brahmasri Sri Vittaldas Jayakrishna Deekshithar.
The main objective is to spread the Bhakti cult through Namasankeerthan, the easiest way to attain liberation in Kaliyuga and to build an unique Maharasthrian Hemandapanthi style temple of Sri Panduranga and Sri Rukmini Devi in a holy place called "Govindapuram" ( 10 Km from Kumbakonam, approx 2 Km from Thiruvidaimarudhur) on the banks of River Cauvery. Sri Bhagavannaama Bodhendra Saraswathi Swamigal's Ashram is walkable from the ashram. Bhoomi Pooja ( Laying Foundation) was performed in April 1997. Paranur Mahathma Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal and Sri Vittaldas Maharaj consecrated the dieties on 6th september 1998. Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal ( Sri Sri Anna) bestowed the title "Dakshina Pandaripuram" to Sri Vittal Rukmini Samasthan.
